    Min Desai holds review meet on COVID resurge in Aurangabad

    Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Mar 19 (UNI) Aurangabad Guardian Minister Subhash Desai on Friday said that the second COVID-19 wave is intensifying in the state and with the increasing number of patients in this district, all the systems should be equipped with essential treatment facilities.

    The district should be protected from infection through coordination and precautionary measures, he asserted while speaking at the virtual meet.

    Mr Desai reviewed the measures being taken by all the agencies in the district and expressed satisfaction over the efforts being made by the agencies to ensure the availability of extra beds in Covid Care Centers and all the hospitals in view of the increasing number of patients.

    “Even though we have been successfully dealing with this contagion for the last one year, we will not be able to stop this growing contagion unless the people actively cooperate with the administration's efforts," he said.

    “The situation has reached such a point. Therefore, the public should follow the rules of Covid with the use of masks,” he added.

    He further said, “In order to curb the spread of the disease, the system should be kept under control with adequate oxygen reserves, increased beds and availability of medicines in the district along with night curfew, partial lockdown till April 4.”

    “In any case, all the systems should be effectively coordinated and planned so that every patient gets proper treatment. The corona vaccination campaign should also be carried out on a large scale while increasing the number of tracing and tests,” he told.

    With the appeal to raise public awareness, the Minister asked to focus om tracking, testing and treatment strategy.

    Collector Sunil Chavan, Commissioner of Police Nikhil Gupta, Municipal Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, Zilla Parishad CEO Dr. Mangesh Gondawale, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Mokshada Patil, Heads of all agencies and senior officers attended the meet.
